Absolutely awesome rendition of my favorite duck gal <3 Love how you drew her proportions and captured her conniving personality.
And props to you for pulling off the gap in the middle of her hairline. So hot.
I also really like the cool glowing hands and how the glow is bouncing off different parts of her body!
You nailed drawing her!!

AppleJupe responds:

thank you very much, squid!! <3

Wow this is beautiful. Love it

dum-dum responds:

thanks squid :)

The clothes he's wearing are typically pretty baggy and spacious and you managed to convey that very well with your lighting and textures! The boots are pretty well done too! Your sheens are always so smooth and satisfying <3
Great running pose and anatomy! Tbh, the simple background works well for a battlefield setting where your mind is overwhelmed with everything that's going on so you're too busy to pay attention to the background and it becomes a blur.

I knew it was Cecil, heh B) idk who he's talking to tho. Bravo, Dum! You always do a stellar job

dum-dum responds:

woooah that an entire paragraph right there, thanks! u give me way too much credit but it made me flattered haha.
he is talking to brit, one of characters from invincible

You madman. You actually drew him! I love it

dum-dum responds:

y'know i had to

Oh wow, this is a pretty big and intricate piece! I like the perspective to it and how you didn't shy away from drawing more complicated and detailed designs. In particular that skeleton and the octopus are great! The tentacle is pretty well done and drawing skeletons is always tough to do. Cute piece!

Phronemophobia responds:

I saw the skeleton by itself at the bottom and was looking for a few more minor enemies to include with it. For whatever reason, I, instead, chose a boss and the only enemy that lives in the water, so I had to color the background to have it make sense for Cathulhu to be among a bunch of other enemies on land. I still don't know why I went with it, but I was kinda proud of myself for only having to correct a few mistakes. On the other hand, Old Master (buff statue guy) had to be entirely redrawn four times, and I didn't give him his weapon, either. Good thing the skeleton and cat tentacle are distracting viewers from seeing the major flaws of this piece.

Thank you, Funky, for your continued commentary support. Might be a while before I can draw something again. Got a lot of things to do... that I'll procrastinate on.

Aw I love Chops! I don't get why he's so disliked in the community. He's got a great design. I really like how you drew him here, especially the top and bottom left ones.

Phronemophobia responds:

Smug villagers have a history of being obnoxious. Same with Snooty types. From the comments I've seen, New Horizons tones this down quite a bit, but many long-time fans of Animal Crossing retain their dislike of these two personalities. Others hate him for the same reason I hated Benedict, because he was a villager the game forced me to add to my island. The design for Chops is a turn off for some just because of how visually arrogant he appears to be. I think the military uniform in NH makes him look like a chubby, little nutcracker.

I thought it was a really dumb idea to have Chops hold up a rose and then add in a grilled pork chop holding up garnish right above it, but I'm glad someone liked it.

Yooo, nice work! This design looks tough to draw but you made it look easy. Great colors too. Makes the volumes of your shapes pop

Phronemophobia responds:

All I did was try to combine three different pieces of official art work I found online. I'm sure you'd be able to do a much better job. I just didn't feel confident in recreating something from the in-game sprite alone.

I was surprised by how the colors came out. I normally lack the ability to combine pencils effectively, but I was pretty happy about this one.

Thank you for the kind words, Squidd.

Great job on this drawing of Isabelle! Her head proportions are really well done and I like how she resembles the breed of dog she's based off irl here even more than in her official depiction.
I like that she's doing a little run, as well.
Bravo!

Phronemophobia responds:

I had a Shih Tzu named Goodles when I was a kid. An absolute sweetheart of a dog and dumber than a box of rocks. At no point did I see Isabelle and believe she was of the same breed until I saw her reveal trailer for Smash and decided to see what sort of character she was (never played another Animal Crossing after the Gamecube version until New Horizons finally came out).

She does have an adorable trot of sorts when dashing around in Smash, doesn't she? <3
Thank you, Funky.
